Where are my pants?

There has been too few photos posted on the lament. I'll try to fix this. Let's start with a classic moment from Jack's Party Like It's 1985 shindig. Semi-naked toasted boys writhing on the dancefloor. Does it get any better??

When Baby Doc complained he couldn't find his pants, my reaction was: 'well, if you hadn't taken them off (to reveal white hotpants), you wouldn't have lost them'.

In other news, it's freezing here. Open Class is postponed. It's my birthday tomorrow. My head cold is abating. I forgot to announce that I finished reading Zen and the Art of Shit... Let me just say... A crappy read, I wish I hadn't bothered. Don't feel bad if you quit half-way through, there's hours of your life you didn't waste.

Hi, How are things goingg Bonnie? Long time I know. Things haven't been the best for me. I finally posted a new entry explaining it. I hope you are doing OK. Take Care

Are you really in Korea? You said you saw a stencil in Brunswick that reminded you of me (I shudder to think what it was :) )

Hey Aleks, I actually thought of you before that cos I was going through my archives and wanted to give props to those who supported my blog in its infancy. Thanks.
I AM living in Korea, but came home for a week's holiday last week.
I hope you stay online for a bit. I think a lot has happened in our lives since we first crossed paths over the refugee issue in Australia...

hey, i was going to give the big "DON'T BOTHER" pep talk about ZATAOMM but thought it might be received poorly. i pretty much hated it. pretentious, impressive only to people who know nothing about philosophy or the classics, and narratologically weak. "sophie's world" did a similar thing and pulled it off [charming me in the process] but this is truly to literature what "sideways" is to film.

end rant.

p.s. i hope your nose isn't cold.

Yeah I was gonna rant but you've summed it up. FECKIN boring and pretentious and totally unenlightened and unenlightening. In my generous moments I tried to remind myself it was written in another time. But the crap narrative is indefensible.

I'm in shippin', if you're receivin'
'Cause what I see I ain't believin'

You got me doin' a matin' dance

I hope you are enjoying yourself over there. I find the prospect of even moving cities within Australia for work a little daunting. I suppose I can blame my parents for that. :)

I am so glad you didn't like that god-awful book Zen etc, Bon. I *hated* it and consider it a few hours of my life I will never get back. And felt guilty cos the guy who recommended it to me was so enamoured by it that he went out AND BOUGHT A MOTORBIKE. Ugh.
Ta for email, will write 2 u soon. And if it's any consolation, Boston is f-ing cold like Seoul :(

Thanks for warning me about "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance." I'm glad I didn't waste my time.

Speaking of Buddhist lit, I recommend the graphic novel "Introducing Buddha" by Jane Hope and Borin Van Loon, which provides a witty, beginner-friendly summary of the religion / philosophy and its different branches (plus, it's in pictures!).

I also have "The Compass of Zen" by Seung Sahn. I haven't started it yet, but I've only heard good things about it.
